David had always thought that his apartment was clean. It wasn’t too cluttered and everything was placed right where he could find it. Unlike Sanders’ bachelor pad, he didn’t need a shovel just to find out that there was a kitchen somewhere in the apartment.

It didn’t matter to him that some of his books where out of placed in the bookshelf or the fact that he would reuse some of his shirts before washing them at the end of the week. And he knew that there was some mold in his bathroom. David usually cleaned everything up at the end of the month, or at least he made a good attempt by reminding himself that he didn’t want to end up like Sanders.

That was before he met Sanders’ cousin, Ryan Wolfe, and became deeply attracted to the other man. Initially, he was bothered that they were related and that Ryan was a carbon copy of his cousin at times. Sanders had gone all the way, telling everyone in the vicinity that Ryan was his clone (only because he was a couple of years older than Ryan, but that wasn’t the point). If Sanders was the prototype, Ryan was the one with advancements and improvements. They fixed the personality disorder and possibly inserted a deep attraction to older, less attractive, cynical lab rats. He had wondered many times why Ryan would pick him out of all of Sanders’ friends. Didn’t he meet Nick Stokes and Bobby Dawson before Sanders brought Ryan to meet him? He had considered how lucky he was to finally have someone so attractive.

“Consider yourself warned,” Sanders once told him. “Ry-ry has slight OCD.”

David didn’t know that Sanders words were an understatement until he came home one night. His apartment was sparkling clean. He could smell the chlorine used before he went through the door (in fact, his eyes watered from the burn). He found his boyfriend putting the last of his books, organized chronologically, into the shelf.

He couldn’t help feeling slightly ticked off. He liked his apartment the way it was. As much as he loved Ryan, this was a bit too much. His privacy was intruded upon and David was about to lash out at the other man, when Ryan smiled at him and planted a kiss on his lips.

All the anger seeped out instantaneously despite the fact the he tried to keep it all in. David gave up and wrapped his arms around Ryan.

“We need to do something about your OCD,” he said.

Ryan just laughed. “I’m sorry. I just couldn’t help it. I was waiting for two hours for you to come home. After all, I did fly from Miami just to see you.”

“Ry-ry, there’s a phone in my house. You know my cell phone number. Now let’s put two and two together and do the necessary actions,” David said. Ryan just smiled.

“This was better,” he admitted before kissing his boyfriend again. David smiled. If it made Ryan happy, then he wouldn’t mind.

Ryan pulled away from him. “But I expect it to stay this way when I leave. If it’s a mess when I see you again, you’ll be nursing a pair of blue balls. Black and blue balls.”

David winced at the thought.

Now, he didn’t dare touch anything in his apartment.

Prompt #036 – Smell

His nose curled as the ghastly smell attacked his olfactory senses. This was definitely not the best way to wake up. If he could describe it in a nutshell the smell was a cross between rotting fish and Flack’s mould covered boots with copious amounts of vinegar. Whatever it was, it was not lingering on his ship any longer.

Danny knew it was time to use his captain powers to use.

He got up and pulled a shirt on and exited his quarters. Following the stench, it led him to the deck where Ryan and Speed was bent over what seemed to be a pot. He nearly took a double take when he got closer. Deciding to use a safe distance, Danny hollered at them.

“What the hell are you two making? It smells like ass!”

Speed turned to him pulling up the mask he was wearing and gave him a simple answer.

“Stink bomb.”

Prompt #037 – Sound

Giving up on tossing and turning, Flack finally got up. He couldn’t take it anymore. This was the last time he was going to put up with Danny’s antics. He’d already followed the other man through thick and thin, putting up with every single one of his so called ‘adventures’ when all he did was attract trouble with marines and pirates alike. And Flack was the one who had to back him up. It was frustrating because all he wanted was a good night’s sleep for god’s sake! It wasn’t too much to ask.

He burst into the captain’s quarters, expecting to find Danny awake but what he found was the captain sprawled out on his bed completely dead to the world.

And the inane snoring that bothered Flack from the bunks below deck was louder than before. Pissed off, he overturned Danny’s bed before leaving and grumbling about his babysitting gig.

Danny woke up, watching his first mate leave.

“What was that about?”

Prompt #038 – Touch

Danny realized that this was the first time he had touched his navigator this way. When he took her on his ship, he’d treated Aiden with nothing but respect. He may be captain but he realized that he relied on her a lot for their survival in the sea. At first, he had some attraction towards her but when time went on, it meant nothing. Their friendship meant a lot more to him. But Danny still loved to tease and she loved to use her feminine wiles against him.

Even with the teasing and subtle flirting, he had never held her the way he did now. With his arms around her, he pulled her closer.

She tugged at his shirt, sobbing into his chest, still clutching on the piece of paper with the horrible news of her mentor’s death.

He shushed her and tried to make things better.

And that was when Danny realized that he never had hugged Aiden before. He also hadn’t been the one that she was relying on.

It made him realize that Aiden wasn’t just his navigator anymore.

Prompt #039 – Taste

They took Ryan for granted. When the chef fell sick, Speed announced that Ryan was under quarantine until he figured out just what exactly the young chef caught.

Ryan wasn’t allowed to near the kitchen until he was better. Speed told them by a week’s time Ryan would be up and about. That meant that one of them had to cook and Tony decided to do it.

Now staring at the green soup was supposed to be some sort of specialty at Joyluck Island, Danny couldn’t help but wonder when exactly Ryan would be fit enough to cook again. He watched as Flack bravely spooned it and took a sip. He quickly dashed out the dining area and was presumed to be puking out on deck. Several minutes later, Speed declared that Tony’s cooking was a hazard to health and that the soup was biohazard material.

This overjoyed Danny but the question still remained: Who was going to cook for them for the week?

There was no way they could live that long with bad cooking.

Prompt #040 – Sight

He put his foot down on the matter. It was a rule on his ship after all. In fact it was a golden rule, sacred to pirates at sea… well, to him anyway.

He didn’t need his crew to be giving a show to everyone and their grandma on this ship.

“There will be absolute no sex in any part of the ship unless in your own quarters,” he said, turning away as he let the ladies get dressed. “That’s the law. The both of you know it since the day you got on the ship. I already banned Don and Ryan from having sex in the kitchen. That applies to both of you in the engine room.”

He turned and got an eyeful. Kate was all over Sara again. Danny took a breath, calmed himself down before shouting at the top of his voice.

“DO THAT IN YOUR QUARTERS!”

This will end with Zoro leaving with the crew for his dream while Flack has a green haired baby.

Ban and Ginji. To me, they are the epitome of a well balanced relationship. Their personalities are different yet they take time to understand each other. Ban being the more serious one while Ginji is all heart.

But what I love most is that they both trust each other so much with their lives.

Hunt – Prompt #001 Beginnings

Of all bounty hunters, this one was persistent and as much as he enjoyed the attention, he knew he couldn’t afford it. The cost of such attention was his life, after all. And when did Danny ever pay up?

He couldn’t help but admire Don Flack. Every time they met, the fights they had were interesting. The main reason was the two always ended up bruised and bleeding. But they always left the fight alive.

That intrigued him because the other bounty hunters that went against him ended the fight with their lives. Then again, wasn’t it Danny’s job to make sure his chosen targets were dead? If he left one alive, it’ll ruin his reputation as the best assassin. He couldn’t allow it.

With a smirk, Danny looked down at his target and he knew that somewhere out there, Don Flack was watching the same man just for a chance to take his life.

They were the hunter and the hunted. Danny didn’t mind that.

As the cliché line would go: The hunt is on.

Crossroads – Prompt #002 Middles

They were back to back, surrounded by what seemed like a hundred cronies of a two-bit gang who thought they ruled everything and when other gangs didn’t think so, they would fight over it. Danny couldn’t care what they think but he did care when someone became a victim in the fray of Gods and mice.

And that victim was a friend of a certain bounty hunter. Don Flack wasn’t pleased and Danny really didn’t want to see him die in the hands of stupid people. The bounty hunter deserved a better fight.

The last of their opponents were taken down easily. It surprised him how well they both knew each other. When they fought the group, it was as if their styles were in sync. Danny knew that wasn’t true. They just faced each other too many times, memorizing each of their moves so that the other wouldn’t get hurt badly.

Danny watched as Don dealt with their leader. If it were up to him, Danny would have killed him. Don left him with a few broken bones and a concussion.

They just looked at each other before parting. Neither needed to say a word to know what would happen the next time they met.

Ending – Prompt #003 Ends

Both of them were facing a barrel of a gun. Neither could pull the trigger on each other and the both of them knew why.

With the number of times they had met over the years, they weren’t just a hunter and an assassin. They bonded. It wasn’t really a friendship. Rivalry wasn’t the real reason. They had respected each other and secretly admired the other’s skill.

Countless times, Danny wished that they didn’t have a bounty between them. Somehow, he knew that Don wished the same.

Three simple words: Let’s end this.

And they pulled the trigger at the same time.

Maybe in the next life, they would be friends.

Prompt #022 Enemies

A/N: Set in what I call the Pirateverse for now. It’s a different setting from our world.

He was a marine. He had been for the past ten years but it was only recently that his job meant something. This was what was called the Age of Pirates. Since the days of the destruction of civilized lands, pirate activity spiked. More people had turned to the seas now that land was no more, creating this age. To him it was nothing more than a rebellion, just like how it was on the civilized lands.

Then again, he could only see the logic behind this. With the mainland gone, survivors of the destructions turned to the many island settlements. But these settlements scattered all over the world could only hold so many people. Others have made ship life their alternate choice of living. Which was better by far than having none.

Until the bill passed by headquarters that all unregistered ship in the seas were considered pirates and were placed as a threat. Most of the ships couldn’t afford the registration. This bill however became the cause of a huge marine headache.

This was when the Age of Pirates was given meaning. A group of rebels started to wave the Jolly Roger in the face of the marines. It pissed off many people in high places. Now, it became top priority to capture them. In his opinion, he felt like the marines were playing into their hands.

Besides, he thought that resourceful energy on both sides shouldn’t be wasted on a proverbial game of police and thief. Instead, they should be working on the remnants of civilization, hopefully able to scavenge some form of living for the masses. But egos were bruised and egos were boosted. He couldn’t win against that.

It had been the fifth time he brought the younger man into interrogation. They had captured a pirate ship, only to have the captain trade his own life if his crew could land on a safe island. In the end, he left them the ship but disarmed them of everything else.

The younger man was known as Captain Danny Messer, a man from a respected family once upon a time. Now, he was on the most wanted list, being the one of the few that sparked the rebellion. And, from what he knew, was a man who could take a beating better than anyone else other than him.

When he entered the room, Danny was slouching against his seat, smirking at him.

“Well, hello Captain Taylor,” he greeted. “Still trying to pound some information out of me? I’m going to tell you that it’s not going to get you anywhere.”

Cocky. He had to admit the man had guts and a rather hefty pound of endurance.

“I’m still wondering why a Messer would end up a pirate,” he said as he sat opposite Danny, a table between them.

He shrugged. “Not all Messers were thrown out on his own when his parents found that he was interested in being something to talk about, Mac.”

“You mean having a job that held some social outstanding?” he asked. It had been awhile since anyone actually talked about the civilized lands without having some sort of sadness with their words.

“Yeah. I didn’t want to be a mantelpiece for mommy and daddy. ‘Sides, I’m already the black sheep when I decided to bed another *man*…” He trailed off, anger reflecting in his eyes.

Mac sat there, calmly assessing Danny. He understood why this man took the sea. His need to be free from all judgments was fulfilled here. Mac understood that sense of need. Having lost his wife, he needed that same freedom. It was better than drowning his sorrows at the end of a bottle.

“But I guess you don’t want me to get into detail on that,” Danny said before leaning in, a playful smile on his lips. “Or do you, captain?”

Mac was slightly taken aback by the sudden closeness between the two. He was uncomfortable with being this close with Danny. And Danny knew that. He had always peeved the marine by casually flirting with him.

It wasn’t the flirting that bothered him. Mac had been through enough interrogations to get used to desperate pirates, both male and female, using their charm on him. It usually never worked.

In Danny’s case, it was done not by desperation but to see what responses he can get from the marine. It was a game to Danny and Mac played like a fool because he couldn’t stop his own impulses. And Mac knew why, despite how he tried to ignore the facts. He was attracted to Danny Messer had been since the day the man was locked up in shackles in his cell. The sight did arouse him and it sickened Mac that he had thoughts of taking Danny there and then. Despite the fact the man was a pirate, he was still a man to respect. But Danny was pushing his buttons, accidentally or not.

Mac cleared his throat before leaning back further. “What I’d like to know you’ll never tell me. Who started this rebellion?”

“You know the answer to that, Mac,” he said, leaning back, an easy smile on his lips.

“Okay, why be a pirate?” Mac asked. Danny just looked at him.

“You wouldn’t understand. Try again next time, captain,” he said.

Mac tossed and turned in his bed. He had too many things in his head. Most of it was about the interrogations of a certain pirate captain. The recent one was the most civil one between them. Mac didn’t even have to raise a hand.

He didn’t mean to ask a personal question but it was the only thing that got Danny talking. He was eager to talk about his past life on the civilized lands. Mac wondered if everything was set up for the pirate’s desire.

Giving up on sleep, Mac threw on a jacket and decided to take a walk.

He wished he had a window. The only thing he missed while he was a free man was the sight of the moon. He sighed. He just never could sleep with such silence in the boat. His crew was never this quiet. They made noise even in sleep. They were, without a doubt, noisier awake.

With the silence, he could here the clanking of boots to stairs as someone came to the holding area. He sat up, raising a curious eyebrow as who would visit him at this time of night. He was surprised that it was the marine captain.

“Captain Taylor, this is an honor,” he said, grinning. “If you’re worried that one of your subordinates would come down and rape me, don’t. Be reminded that I’m a pirate.”

Mac smirked. “I’m sure none of my subordinates would do that. It’s against the law.”

“I should be thankful but I’m a rule breaker. Comes with the whole pirate thing,” Danny said.

“I’ve noticed,” Mac pointed out before coming closer to the bars. “Listen, I just want to know why you told me that.”

Danny lifted his head. “Told you what?”

“That I wouldn’t understand why you became a pirate,” he said.

“Ah, so that’s what’s been peeving you,” Danny said, smirking now. “Do I always keep you up, captain?”

“Not always,” Mac replied, looking at him. Danny stood up, standing close to the bars facing the marine.

“Then why the sudden interest in me?” he asked in a whisper. Half of Mac wanted to take a step back, get more space between them. Even the iron bars weren’t enough to distance him from Danny.

“Mac, why don’t you tell me?” Danny moved closer, leaning against the bars.

He couldn’t. The answer was something he wished to bury and never speak of again. He needed to move back but he couldn’t. Instead, he gravitated towards Danny.

Danny’s hand rubbed against his chest. “You know, you’re interesting to me too.” Mac only let out a low growl; enjoying the sensations the hand was bringing to him.

“You want to make more out of this?” Danny whispered.

“Can’t,” Mac nearly choked out.

“All you have to do is open this cell and I’m yours.” It was an enticing thought but he knew he couldn’t do it. He wasn’t about to break his own rule.

“I’m sorry,” he whispered before backing away. Without a second glance, Mac went back to his room, leaving a dejected Danny Messer behind.

Danny never saw Mac again the next day. The marine captain was obviously avoiding him, knowing that he would never get anything out of him. Danny knew that this meant he didn’t have to stay any longer. He pulled out the key he had snagged from the junior officer since the day he was caught. He could’ve left on that night but his attraction to Mac kept him from leaving.

He waited till night fell again before he opened the door to the cell and quietly snuck out. He tiptoed on the deck, searching for a lifeboat. It was the only way for him to get out of there.

Danny found one and began untying the boat, unknown to any of the guards. He was about to finish the last knot when the cold of a steel blade was pressed against his back.

“Going somewhere, Captain Messer?” Mac said. Danny stood up slowly, hands raised, before turning to face him.

“Me? Just searching for my freedom again,” he answered nonchalantly. Mac just smirked.

“And what makes you think I’m going to allow that? For all I know, you’re the one the Marine Government is looking for.”

At that, Danny snickered. “Sorry, Mac. I don’t have any reason to start this rebellion. Why would I want attention from marines when I want to kill one?”

Mac blinked. “What?”

“Well, you asked and I answered. We’re through. No point in keeping me here.”

Mac raised his sword. “There is no way—“Grabbing the sword hilt and Mac’s free wrist, Danny pinned him to a wooden wall before kissing him deep, giving the marine a shock.

“You should’ve taken me, Mac,” he whispered. “Maybe, you’d know.”

“I don’t break my rules,” Mac muttered.

“I know. That’s why you’re interesting, captain,” Danny said, pushing himself off before jumping on the lifeboat. The last rope snapped under the pressure of the jump and landed with a splash in the sea. Staring the engine of the boat, Danny sped away from the marine ship. As he did, he couldn’t help but feel like he left something behind.

Once the ship was out of sight, he slowed down and looked back. Mac was a marine, his enemy. But for all he knew, Mac was more than just that. He felt a deeper connection between them.

Maybe he left his heart with the enemy. He crossed a line between enemies and lovers. Now, he just didn’t know where he was.

Not wanting to look back anymore, Danny moved on. He needed to be a pirate again.

Some Random One Piece Rant

Skip this if you're not really into One Piece. So far, I've been gushing about these guys because I *blame* -wink- my best friend, pookiesbleubass. Since the day she handed me her collection of One Piece or the episodes thus far, I have religiously watched on my computer, despite the fact I need to get a job. -sigh-

So far in this fandom, I have gravitated towards (actually, went into head first) slash or yaoi pairing Sanji/Zoro or ZoSan as this pairing is cleverly called. All because from the day these two met, they've been dripping with subtext. And isn't the oldest formula for most yaoi pairings are two men who always bicker about everything? From the way I see it, they're fighting because they really itch to touch each other. Heh. Perverts.

I'm also falling for a yuri pairing, Nami/Vivi. Pretty much becuase throughout the course of Vivi's time on the Merry Go (or Going Merry... I don't know which is the real name for this sheep ship), they're just way too close. And Vivi cares for her more than anything else. Especially during the Drum Kingdom Arc where Nami falls sick. Before they reached Drum Island, Vivi was by her side most of the time. In fact, she begged the crew to find an island with a doctor. This coming from the princess of Alabasta who is trying to stop a war. Nami means more to her than anything even her country? That subtext is probably the biggest.

As much as I love the other pairings such as Ace/Smoker (love this... It's just to hot!), Luffy/Zoro, Sanji/Luffy etc. I just can't get the het subtext out of my head either.

Before I continue, I must warn you that these pairings are distorted greatly by my initial suggestions to Sylum . I really wanted to add these characters in. :D

After adding the favorite yaoi pairing, Sanji/Zoro, I went to mesh my imagination with all the other characters. This is when I just finished Logue Town where I just encounter Smoker and Tashigi.

Okay let's get the yaoi and yuri done first. Another warning: I'm a fan of rarepairs.

Shanks/Ace
Reasons: I saw a poster of them together and had bad thoughts. Falling for your younger brother's idol? Does it get any more hotter than that? (Inner voice: Toss in Smoker!)
Wonky reason for adding them as mates: Shanks is probably the Head of Security for Shogun. Ace seemed like a better choice than Ben Beckman. All due respect, I don't like Ben that much. He's cool but I just prefer Ace.

Nami/Nico Robin
Reasons: This actually works with my storyline about Crocodile. Because Shogunwise, Crocodile is possessive about his women. And he wants Nami. That won't sit too well with Sanji though.
Wonky reason for adding them as mates: Nami and Robin are the epitome of fire and ice. Nami is definitely fire and Robin is the ice that cools her down.

Okay, that's all for the yaoi and yuri...

Het pairings:

Smoker/Tashigi
Reasons: Because I like Smoker. He's cool. And since I haven't met Ace yet, I didn't 'see' the Ace/Smoker pairing. So I put these two together. Lately, since Alabasta, I see this pairing better. Especially after Smoker mentioned how Tashigi felt about failure (she was crying. I wanted to hug her. And I found her annoying because she spent way too much time obssessing over Zoro's sword. Until this moment, that is.) and how much it would humiliate them if they were rewarded for it. (The World Government was covering up the fact that pirates prevented the destruction of Alabasta. Smoker basically told them to eat shit. I have nothing but respect for this marine.)
Wonky reason to add them as mates: Because of Smoker. I'm in love. And Tashigi is cute.

Vivi/Luffy
Reasons: Alabasta arc has so much subtext on them. He always seem to inspire her, even after she gave up hope. He's that type of boyfriend. :D
Wonky reason to add them as mates: Because they're in tandem with each other. She's little miss worry. He's the epitome of nonchalance. Go figure.

A really hot Kiefer

Okay, I'm biased on this end. Kiefer is my favorite actor. Since I saw him in Young Guns on TV when I was 10, I was practically gushing about him. A 10 year old gushing about a man who is old enough to be one of your uncles, that's bad. But I only got on the Keifer high in 2000, when I saw Young Guns II and Renegades on, once again, TV.

Now, he's on 24 which I embarrassingly will admit that I can't keep up with after the first few 'hours'. Mainly because that first few hours are pretty boring but is essential for the build up on the exciting parts of 24 which sucks in my case.

Age: 40
Bad case of loving you!

My first reaction to Neal McDonough when I saw him on Boomtown was 'What pretty eyes he has...' I love this man's eyes! I spent my time watching Boomtown in mute because I found his character in that series annoying. So I quietly drooled away. I'm just glad he was on Medical Investigations. I wouldn't mind Dr. Connor treating some odd disease from me. If I died, I'd die happy.

But I'm still waiting on Walking Tall so shut up! Who cares if he plays a deranged crime boss? Me likes!

Rob Morrow
Age: 44
Rob Morrow in Numb3rs... I still can't believe it!

I want to know his formula, really. Rob Morrow is surprisingly young looking for a guy who's 44. He had me believing that he was 27 or 30 until I checked his stats. Believe me, my jaw was on the floor. And the pictures just took away my saliva.

Acting as the sexy math's genius's equally sexy brother, Don Eppes, Rob Morrow melted me seconds when he popped up in the pilot episode of Numb3rs. And was the reason I kept watching Numb3rs. David Krumholtz is cute but Rob... just melts me.

Age: 47
Jack Malone, seriously yum!

I'm going to admit one thing. I have never watched an episode of Without A Trace. Mainly because I never did get the times right for my local TV station. So in the end, I miss them. Even so, I've seen Anthony's pictures and he DESERVES to be on the list. He is hot of a different kind. If you don't believe me, watch Empire Records.

Fifty & Fine

TV can really make you drool. Not because of the hunky co-stars but the older leads. Here are my three favorites from my three favorite shows.

William L. Petersen
Age: 53
Dr Gil Grissom...

When I first saw CSI, I blushingly admit that Nick took most of my attention. Then again, when does George Eads didn't blank the entire world? But come season 4 of CSI, Gil Grissom came sporting face fuzz and entirely blew me away. Bill Petersen + Beard = Hot. It's a simple formula really since he had done the same in The Beast. He was droolworthy, stamping out George, Gary and Eric. That's how much season 4 impacted on my perception on older men. Especially this one.

Cracked me up because I didn't know he was Pat Garrett! Even the trademark eyebrow was in it!

David Caruso
Age: 50
Horatio... Mmm...

Those who hate Horatio Caine prepare to be bulldozed. And everyone else who believed a better actor that can play H I have the steamroller waiting. I love David because of CSI: Miami. And I love CSI: Miami because of H. In fact, David Caruso has made me backtrack practically most of his movies. All the way to eBaying for 'Kiss of Death'. Influentially, he's about as bad as Kiefer.

First movie (if any) ever watched with this actor: Hudson Hawk
Horatio in a red dress. It took a lot of brain bleach. Though he has a nice figure.

Gary Sinese
Age: 51
Gary on CSI: NY
Gary... Guh... Warning! You might suffer from overheating.

Let's face it. Gary Sinese didn't catch my eye in CSI: NY (not with Carmine and Eddie in there). In fact, he was my grandaunt's favorite actor and when she said he was handsome, I couldn't rebuke.

But, I just had to search for pictures of Gary. Mainly because I was looking for Mac Taylor pictures. One of my IM friends decided to hand me a picture of Gary that made me melt to the floor and that sealed it. Gary Sinese is on my hotness list. I even emailed my grandaunt that picture with the subject saying, "YOU WERE RIGHT!!"
A picture is worth a thousand words. And apparently, worth me melting into a goop.

First movie ever watched with this actor: Forrest Gump
I'm blushing now. But, I'm going to admit that I love Lt. Dan Taylor... Who didn't?

I know I missed some people but these guys popped into my head. So who has other choices?
